Brian received his Bachelor of Music from Baldwin-Wallace College Conservatory and his Master of Music from Florida State University, and was a member of Florida Grand Opera's Young Artist Studio, where he played for Tosca, directed by Renata Scotto and starring Deborah Voigt. He has accompanied in the studios of such renowned vocal artists as Ira Siff, Diana Soviero, Barbara Cook, and Liz Callaway.

In 2010, he had the honor of visiting the Shanghai Conservatory of Music as guest clinician and lecturer, coaching Chinese vocal students on American musical theatre repertoire. He performed with Renee Fleming and the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra on "Live from Lincoln Center" on PBS (2012).

As keyboardist and conductor in the theatre, Brian served as Associate Conductor for the National Tour of Les Misérables, and Music Director for Cats on tour throughout the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. He also conducted the premiere Danish-language production of Cats at Det Ny Teater in Copenhagen, Denmark. 

Regional credits include performing the role of "Manny," the accompanist, in Master Class at St. Louis Rep, directed by Victoria Bussert, Music Director for The Wild Party at Baldwin-Wallace College, Violet at Cain Park, and A Little Night Music at Florida State Opera. He assisted David Gooding on the world premiere of Jacques and Maddly (1998) at Cleveland's Playhouse Square.
